Bowlaway Lanes in New Hampton is where you'll find Eleanore Martin every other Saturday.
Martin is a certified bowling coach with Special Olympics. She's helped out as a coach for 23 years.
"We call them 'All Stars' because they are all stars. People from the group home, consumers that live in their home in the area," said Eleanore Martin.
The bowling league runs from September through April. Martin gives advice to the bowlers, but her best tip...
"Have fun, and they do. They have a good time," said Martin.
Part of the reason Eleanore Martin got started coaching is her daughter. She lives in a group home for people with intellectual disabilities.
"I love bowling, and I thought it would be something these guys would enjoy, and they do have a good time at it," said Martin.
Each October her bowlers can participate in the Special Olympics -- then top finishers go on to compete at state.
Every other Saturday brings about 20 bowlers to the lanes, but Martin said anyone in the New Hampton area is welcome.
"We'd like to have more," she said.
Martin will be at the bowling alley every other Saturday, offering coaching tips and encouragement.
"Because I do get a lot out of it. I enjoy it. It's fun working with these guys," said Martin.
