DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum is enjoying an eleventh-hour bump in the polls.

In fact, it's something he, himself, predicted.

At a November 15 stop in Dyersville, only about 10 people showed up - more journalists than voters. Polls at that time showed Santorum with less than five percent of likely Iowa caucus goers' support.

Still, he said that day, "My feeling is, my time will come, and there's six weeks until the Iowa caucuses, and we've gone out and gone to all 99 counties."

Referring to the other GOP candidates, he said, "Just about everybody in Iowa has had a little bit of a bump, and so if I was going to pick my timing, I would say that the last is the best."

Now, the day before the Iowa caucuses, Santorum is polling third among likely Iowa caucus-goers.
