Iowa falls to Purdue in Big Ten Opener

The Iowa Hawkeyes and Purdue Boilermakers opened Big Ten conference basketball play Wednesday night. The last time the Boilermakers came to town they were ranked sixth in the country and left Iowa City with a loss.

Midway through the first half, Josh Oglesby would hit a three pointer to cut the lead to one.

The Hawkeyes battled all night as Devin Marble and Aaron White both had sensational dunks, and Eric May hit a three-pointer late to tie the game at 52.

In the end, Purdue was just too much as they defeated the Hawkeyes 79-76. Iowa now falls to 8-6 on the season and 0-1 in the Big Ten.
