The Iowa Hawkeyes looked to build on Saturday's win over Drake. while Central Arkansas, under former NBA player Corliss Williamson, were looking for a big upset.
Jarvis Garner hit an early jump-shot for the Bears, which tied the game at 2-2, but that was as close as the game would get, as the Hawkeyes then went on a 22-3 run over the next eight minutes, thanks to seven early points from Aaron White.
The Bears outscored the Hawkeyes in the final ten minutes of the first half, to pull within 13 points at halftime, as Iowa held onto a 55-42 lead, despite 15 first-half points from UCA's Dewan Clayborn.
Iowa jumped all over the Bears to begin the second half, outscoring Central Arkansas 22-5 in the first ten minutes of the second frame.
Life didn't get much easier for the Bears, as they shot just 31% from the field over the course of the game, while the Hawkeyes shot a sizzling 55% from the floor.
Iowa passed the century mark to take a 101-59 lead with just under four minutes left in the game, and they finished with a convincing 105-64 victory over Central Arkansas.
Roy Devyn Marble finished with a game-high 19 points, thanks in large part to a 9-for-10 night at the free-throw line. Aaron White contributed with 17 points, while Melsahn Basabe was a rebound away from a double-double, with 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Hawkeyes will be in action again Thursday night, as they welcome the Boise State Broncos to Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
