No "Thunder in the Valley" air show planned for 2012 - KWWL - Eastern Iowa Breaking News, Weather, Closings

Waterloo air show may not be back in 2012

The planning committee for the "Thunder in the Valley" air show says it would like to make it a bi-annual event.

The planning committee is recommending to take a year off before hosting the air show again in 2013.

The Waterloo Kiwanis Club board of directors plans to discuss the issue and make a final decision Monday.

Organizers said about 53,000 people attended the air show at the Waterloo Regional Airport in August.

While the show brought in around $22,000, committee members say due to the time and effort to put on a top notch air show, it may be best to only hold "Thunder in the Valley" every two years.
