Cedar Falls Police arrest three people for drugs

Three people were arrested for drug crimes on Thursday in Cedar Falls.

Cedar Falls Police and the Tri-County Drug Task Force searched a home at 1902 Iowa Street and found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Arrest warrants were served for two of the three who were involved in another search done in June where drugs, drug paraphernalia and six weapons were seized.

21-year-old Joseph Chatman IV was charged with possession of powder cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.  He also was arrested on the same charges stemming from the June search warrant. He is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail on $30,000 bond. Chatman could receive up to 10 years in prison and a fine of around $10,000.

21-year-old Kevin Downs was charged with possession of marijuana.  He also received charges from the June search warrant. Those include delivery of a controlled substance while in the immediate possession of a firearm and conspiracy to distribute marijuana while in the immediate possession of a firearm. He is in the Black Hawk County Jail on $26,000 bond. He could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of around $10,000.

24-year-old Ryan Mitchell was charged with possession of marijuana. He's in the Black Hawk County Jail on $1,000 bond. He could face up to a year in jail and a fine no greater than $1,875.
