Harrington scores 23 as Cedar Falls upsets #3 Linn-Mar

After having their 29 game winning streak snapped Friday by Iowa City West, #3 Linn-Mar suffered their second straight loss a 64-63 overtime setback at #10 Cedar Falls.

The Tigers' James Harrington went toe to toe with North Carolina recruit Marcus Paige and came out on top.  Harrington scored 23 to Paige's 22 in the ball game.

Cedar Falls had to battle back on several occasions on Tuesday night.  The Tigers trailed Linn-Mar by as much as 11 in the first half before making it a 2 point ball game at half.  The Lions again stretched their lead up to 9 in the second half, but a lay-up from CF's Kalehl Brown with just over a minute left knotted the game at 56 sending it to overtime.

With Cedar Falls leading 63-60 in the extra session, the ball somehow ended up in the hands of Paige outside the arc with just under a minute remaining.  The Lions stand-out sent it through the net to tie things up at 63 apiece, but with 1.9 seconds remaining Harrington was fouled on a drive to the hoop.  The Tiger senior hit one of two free throws to seal the victory.

The win moves Cedar Falls to 2-1 on the season, while Linn-Mar drops to 2-2.
