DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

A resident at the Dubuque Rescue Mission is using his artistic talents to beautify the dining area.

Graphic artist and mission resident Will Pearsall recreated in mural form a woodcut piece called, "Christ of the Breadlines," originally created by German-American artist Fritz Eichenberg.

In the past, Pearsall has worked as a painter of billboards.

"Everybody's special. Everyone has a talent. Even the ones that make the food and bring it here, versus me drawing this," he said, standing in front of his mural Tuesday afternoon. "I give this. They help me with food, shelter."

Pearsall is currently working on a second mural in the mission. He said he hopes to do several more throughout Dubuque.

Additionally, Pearsall is scheduled to teach a drawing class at the Dubuque Art Center on Dec. 17.
