Cedar Rapids LOST vote rises again

The Linn County Supervisors have set March 6, as the date for voters to head to the polls on a 10-year extension of the city's local option sales tax.

The goal of the 1% tax is to provide flood protection for both sides of the Cedar River. Each city council decides how to spend sales-tax revenue raised in its city.

If approved, the tax would run through 2024. The current tax expires at the end of next year.

Linn County voters turned down a similar proposal for a 20 year extension in May.
