Mental health reforms for Iowa possible

The Department of Human Services is recommending the state put $47 million dollars toward a re-designed system for mental health care.

According to the AP the head of the department, Chuck Palmer, endorsed a working group calling for the creation of five to 15 regional service delivery systems.

The DHS says counties could begin forming regional groups early next year.

The full re-designed system would take around five years to put in place.
