TIFFIN (KWWL) -

A Cedar Rapids man who was managing a Subway store in Tiffin is charged with stealing thousands of dollars from the store.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says an investigation was started after the district manager of Subway/Kum and Go stores in eastern Iowa filed a complaint.

According to deputies, the investigation revealed that Seth Adam Buns, 28, was the manager of the Tiffin store and was tasked with depositing the previous days sales in the bank.

The complaint states that Buns had started a pattern of being late with the deposits in September, and was warned by the district manager.

Deputies say that from late September through early October, some deposits were never received by the bank.

Deputies say Buns admitted to stealing more than $3,000 and using it for personal use.

Buns was fired in late October.  He is charged with second degree theft.
