An Iowa City man has been charged in two burglaries after police say he tried to sell the stolen goods.

Iowa City police say 36-year-old Joseph Harmon Moore pawned a laptop computer at Money and More for $200 on Nov. 11.  The computer was reported stolen on Nov. 10.  Police recovered the computer and Moore told them that a man named Jacob Berry paid him $50 to pawn the computer.  Police were not able to find Berry.

Then, on Nov. 15, police say Moore went into University Camera with a camera that had been reported stolen on Nov. 14.  The store owner called police and Moore told officers that he found the camera on a bench in the Ped Mall.

Moore is charged with two counts of third degree theft.

Online court records show that Moore was convicted of third degree theft for a 2009 incident and second degree theft for an incident in 2010.
