Iowa's health is slipping, but the state still ranks in the top 20.
The United Health Foundation reports that Iowa at 17.
Over the past decade, the number of smokers has dropped. Twenty-three percent of Iowans smoked in 2001, now only 16 percent smoke.
But obesity and diabetes is on the rise. In 2001, 6.1 percent of the adult population had diabetes. In 2011, 7.5 percent of Iowa adults are diabetic.
