Two injured in Johnson County crash


The Iowa State Patrol says two people were injured on Monday when a car ran a stop sign and crashed into a semi trailer on Highway 965 near Swisher on Monday evening.

According to the crash report, a car driven by 22-year-old Mario Rutambo of Iowa City was headed east on 120th Street when he ran the stop sign and hit the wheels of a semi trailer that was southbound on Highway 965.  The semi was driven by 34-year-old Rex Katcher of Cedar Rapids.

Rutambo and his passenger, 29-year-old Emmanual Mikanbozi of Iowa City, were taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Rutambo is charged with failure to obey a traffic sign.
