Preston marine laid to rest

An outpouring of support was shown for fallen marine Zachary Reiff, the 22 year-old Preston, Iowa native that died from his injuries from a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

Friends, family, fellow marines, and even complete strangers made their way to Preston to pay tribute to a man who died fighting for what he believed in.

A group from Loras college was there in support.

"It's just important to be able to show our support for one another, and show our support for families and our troops and our country in general, and I think that we all really want to do that, regardless of what our beliefs are," said Brad Cavanagh, from Loras College.

People packed their way into St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  They heard about Reiff's strong desire to serve his country, returning to Afghanistan for a second tour even after being injured by a bomb in July of 2010.

The support for the fallen marine was nothing short of overwhelming.

Two thousand American flags planted by volunteers lined the streets of Preston, as Reiff's body was transported to its final resting place.

Reiff remembered for his loving nature, his sense of humor, and his sacrifice to his country.
