Panther men rule Hilton--UNI beats Iowa State, 69-62


The Northern Iowa Panthers battled back from an early 14-4 deficit and then went long range to knock off Iowa State, 69-62, Wednesday night at Hilton.

The Panther men kept their cool following a slow start, going on a 10-0 run to tie the game at 14. UNI led 33-28 at half and fought off several small runs by the Cyclones to improve their season record to 6-1.

The Panthers made 9-three-pointers in the road victory, and got 17-points from Anthony James and 14 each from Marc Sonnen and Matt Morrison. Freshmen forward Seth Tuttle went 4 of 4 from the field to finish with 9-points and 12 rebounds.

Chris Allen and Royce White led Iowa State with 15 each. The Cyclones fall to 5-2 on the young season.

UNI has beaten Iowa State in 5 of the last 6 meetings, including 3 straight at Hilton.
