Dubuque Co. bus driver allegedly violates protective order

DUBUQUE COUNTY (KWWL) -

Authorities have re-arrested a Western Dubuque school bus driver accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with boys last year.  They say he violated a court order.

Joseph J. Simon Jr., 52, of Epworth was originally arrested in November.

At that time, a judge ordered Simon to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.  But court records indicate he contacted one of the boys over Facebook in December.

Dubuque County prosecutors are charging him with two counts of third degree sexual abuse. That stems from several alleged incidents of sexual contact with male minors between June and September of 2011.

The Sheriff's Office said the abuse did not take place on any school property.

Anybody with information regarding this incident and investigation may call the Dubuque Law Enforcement Dispatch Center at 563-589-4415 and ask for the County Criminal Investigations Division.

People may also leave anonymous information by calling the Dubuque/Jo Daviess Crime Stoppers at 1-800-74700117 or 563-588-0714.
