Crosby amazes in return to Penguins

Sid the Kid is back--maybe better than ever

The Penguins star returned to the ice for his first NHL game in more than 10 months and notched two goals and two assists in Pittsburgh's 5-0 whitewash of the New York Islanders. He had been out since January with concussion-like symptoms.

Crosby scored his first goal less than 6 minutes into his season debut. He weaved past three New York defenders then beat Anders Nilsson with a backhand for his first goal since last December.

Crosby added assists on goals by Evgeni Malkin and Brooks Orpik. He capped his comeback with a second goal, a backhand that fluttered by Anders Nilsson early in the third period.

Steve Sullivan also scored for the Penguins while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 29 shots.
