"Twilight" premiere at midnight will draw hundreds of Cedar Valley "Twi-hards"

Cedar Valley theaters are preparing for hundreds of "Twilight" fans at the midnight premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1".

Waterloo and Cedar Falls theaters are each showing the film on multiple screens.  College Square Theater recently upgraded to all digital screens, which means adding another theater is as simple as hitting a button.  The manager said they will continue adding screens Thursday night as demand indicates.  It would take more than 2,000 "Twi-hard" fans to sell out the entire theater.

The movie is expected to draw $130 million dollars worldwide in its opening weekend -- just short of the $169 million for the opening weekend of the Harry Potter finale.

This is the fourth installment of a five part series.  The film is referred to as the beginning of the end for Twilight fans.  Most of the movie-goers already know how the plot unfolds -- they've likely read the best-selling book series.

We'll have a live report on KWWL News at 10:00 from the Cedar Falls theater.
