Lanpher earns MVC newcomer honor

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Jared Lanpher stepped in for the injured Tirrell Rennie and led UNI to a 21-17 victory over Youngstown State.  That performance earned him the Missouri Valley's Newcomer of the week honor.

Lanpher threw for 238 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions in the game.  With 27 seconds left in the first half, the UNI freshman engineered a 2 play, 61 yard, touchdown drive to put the Panthers ahead at the half.

The Panthers will return to action on Sat., Nov. 12, when they host Southern Utah in the UNI-Dome.
