Linn County absentee ballots

Voters go to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in municipal races...and a state senate race that's getting lots of attention.

The Linn County elections office stayed open Saturday so people could cast absentee ballots in person.

About 150 people took the time today to do that.

So far, around 10 thousand absentee ballots have been requested through the mail - mostly due to hotly contested state senate race in Linn county.

"Probably 90% of the absentee ballots that have been requested are as a result of the Senate district 18 race" said Joel Miller, Linn County auditor.

You can also vote absentee in person Monday and at the polls Tuesday from 7 am-9pm.
