Hill tallies 5 TD's as Cedar Falls rallies past C.R. Washington

Barkley Hill put on a clinic scoring 5 times as Cedar Falls rallied by Cedar Rapids Washington in the second half for a 35-32 victory.  The win advances C.F. into the class 4A state semifinals.

The Tigers briefly held a 7-3 first half lead after Hill scored from 14 yards out.  Washington countered with a long drive capped by a 3 yard run from Mitch Bredeson as the Warriors took a 10-7 lead into the half.

That lead was quickly extended when Washington senior Ryan Cain returned the second half kickoff 91 yards for the touchdown and a 17-7 edge.  The Warriors and Tigers proceeded to trade 1 yard touchdown runs for a 24-14 Washington edge late in the third quarter.

That's when Hill really became a factor, scoring on a tough 19 yard run to pull Cedar Falls within 3 after 3 quarters.  An interception by Jake Gallu set up his fourth touchdown of the night, a 33 yard scamper which put C.F. up for good just minutes into the 4th.  Hill's 5th touchdown came from 51 yards and was set up by another turnover as the Tigers recovered a fumble near midfield.

Cedar Falls will meet Bettendorf in the state semifinals Friday night in the UNI-Dome.
