Police say Oxford woman hit her husband with car

An Oxford woman faces several charges after police say she got into an argument with her husband at his workplace and then hit him with a car.

Iowa City police say 47-year-old Mary Kathleen Wells went to her husband's place of work and fought with him and another woman around 9:15 p.m. Monday.

According to the criminal complaints, Wells punched her husband in the face, tore his shirt and hit him in the face with a rubber hose that had a metal fitting attached to it.  The complaint goes on to say that she then drove her car at another car, missing it by inches and then hit her husband with the car.  Police say he was not injured by the collision with the car but received minor scrapes from being hit by the rubber hose.

Police say that Wells hit the other woman in the face, pulled her hair and threw an unopened quart of oil at her.

Police say all of this happened in front of the couple's 12 and 15-year-old children.

Wells is charged with assault, domestic abuse and child endangerment.
