Winneshiek crash kills one teen, injures six others


A Minnesota teen died and six other teens were injured Wednesday night after a roll-over accident.

The Iowa State Patrol says that Brenden Christensen, 18, of Winnebago, Minnesota was driving his truck west on 245th Ave. near 200th St. in Calmar at around 9:15 p.m. when he missed a curve.  The crash report says the truck went into the ditch and rolled, coming to rest on the passenger side in a field east of 245th Ave.

Joshua Evers, 18, of Rochester, Minnesota, died as a result of the crash.  Troopers say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Five others, Bobbi Jo Wild, 19, of Lansing, Shenyse Tharp, 18, of Holy Cross, Trey Dylsin-Hillyer, 18, of Frost, Minnesota, Keisha Kerr, 19, of Postville and Kristin Easley, 19, of Preston, Minnesota were all injured and taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by ambulance along with Christensen.

The Iowa State Patrol says none of the teens were wearing seatbelts.
