West Delaware upends Webster City, set to face Decorah


The West Delaware Hawks are now prepping for Decorah after upending Webster City at the UNI Dome on Monday night.

Webster City owned the first half of this game scoring 14 points on touchdowns by Sam Mossman and Jon Davis.

The Lynx led 14-3 at the half.

The second half belonged to West Delaware though.  The Hawks scored 36 points in the half on the way to their ninth straight win.

Trey MacTaggart opened up the scoring in the third quarter with a 67-yard touchdown run.  After the two-point conversion the Lunx lead was cut to 14-11.

Then on the next Hawks possession, it was MacTaggart again, this time scoring from 45-yards out.  After the extra point, West Delaware led 18-14.

Then, facing fourth and two from the 19-yard line, Sam Lahr breaks free on the 19-yard touchdown run extending the Hawks lead to 25-14 after the extra point.

The Lynx weren't done yet though, in the fourth quarter Jon Davis scores on the quarterback keeper from the one-yard line.  The extra point cuts West Delaware's lead to 25-21.

But the Hawks come right back.  On the first play from scrimmage, Lahr scores his second touchdown of the game to make it 32-21 Hawks.

West Delaware goes on to win 39-28.

The Hawks will take on Decorah in Decorah on Monday night.
