Decorah eaglet could be heading home

One of the Iowa eaglets that hatched this spring before a worldwide audience has been tracked to Wisconsin and Minnesota and now appears to be heading back home to the Hawkeye state.

Three eaglets hatched in April atop a tree at the Deborah Fish Hatchery.  A nest-cam installed by The Raptor Research Project provided an online look at life in the nest and attracted more than 206 million visits to the live web feed.

One eaglet was fitted with a satellite transmitter to allow researchers to track her travels since she left the area on Aug. 14.

The project's Bob Anderson told a local newspaper that the bird was tracked to Yellow Lake in northwest Wisconsin, then west of Lake Superior in northeastern Minnesota.  Now, he says, she appears to be heading back to Decorah.
