UPDATE: Arrest made in chase involving sheriff's deputy


The Clayton Co. Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old William Kobelt was arrested Friday afternoon for crashing into a sheriff's deputy during a chase.

The deputy was injured after his patrol car was rammed during a chase that started near Colesburg in Delaware County.

The Clayton County deputy spotted the vehicle near Nature Avenue in Clayton County.  Authorities say the suspect saw the patrol car and drove head-on into it.

The deputy fired his weapon at the suspect, but the suspect ran away.

The deputy was treated and released from a Guttenberg hospital.

Kobelt is charged with Assault of a Police Officer with a Dangerous Weapon.

He's in the Clayton Co. Jail.
