A-P dominates Eagle Grove at the Sacred Acre


The mighty Falcons won their district championship and finished unbeaten against 1A competition this season while Eagle Grove slipped into the playoffs with a win on the last week of the regular season.

A-P beat Eagle Grove 48-27 last year in the first round of the playoffs.

The Falcons coming on strong at the end of season and Head Coach Alex Pollock has himself a well-oiled big red machine.

On their first drive, quarterback Spencer Cooper would roll out and hit Brady Frey in the end zone and with the extra point the Falcons go up by seven.

Frey would continue dominating the game in the Falcons' second drive, but this time he did it on the ground as he ran 50 plus yards to the end zone.

Then it would be Jason Grill's turn as he would power his way in from five yards out. With the extra point the Falcons would go up by 21 points.

Frey and Grill would trade back to back 40 yard touchdown runs and Aplington-Parkersburg would go 35 to 0 in the second quarter.

The Falcons would do it on special teams as well kicking a 33 yard field goal. It was just the 3rd field goal of the season for the Falcons.

The Eagles would finally get on the board with just seconds left in the first half as Jake Wilde would hit Cody Helmick in the end zone.

The Falcons were in control all night long and would come away with a big win in the first round of the playoffs. A-P would score 51 and the Eagles only get 13 points on the board.
