West Union man arrested on terrorism charge

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says a West Union man is charged with threats of terrorism for threatening to bomb a Department of Correction residential facility.

Deputies say Christopher Alan Burke, 21, threatened to bomb the West Union Residential Facility with a chemical bomb or device.  They say he spoke in great detail of how he intended to kill or harm employees and inmates at the facility.  Deputies say he also threatened an employee of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

Burke was charged on Friday with Threats of Terrorism and Harassment in the first degree.

Burke was charged earlier this month with escaping the West Union facility while he was serving time for his involvement in a meth lab that was found above a West Union business in 2010.

Two other men were also charged with helping Burke escape.
