New Hampton beats Clarion-Goldfield in over time

The Chickasaws were looking for a little revenge Friday night as they lost their final game of the season last year to the Cowboys.

Clarion-Goldfield would get on the board first with a three yard run by Jake Haberman who would blast his way into the end zone. The Cowboys would then go for two. Quarterback Adam Stevens would get chased out the pocket and throw off his back foot, but he would still hit Jack Lockhart in the back of the end zone. The Cowboys would go up 8 to nothing early in the game.

The Chickasaws would answer right back with a one yard run by Austin Lukes. With the extra point, New Hampton would pull within one point.

The Cowboys would keep powering their way down the field. Their next drive would be capped off by a 13 yard run by Wyatt Sann.

A little later the Cowboys would show they could do it on defense as well. Chickasaw quarterback Mitch Frerichs would throw deep, but it would be picked off by defensive back Dominic Brandt.

Then it would be the Chickasaws turn, showing whatever the Cowboys can do they can do better. Fourth and goal and the Cowboys would go for it all, but the pass would be picked off by the Chickasaws' Sawyer Anderson at the one yard line.

Clarion-Goldfield would go into halftime up 14 to seven, but the Chickasaws would go on to beat the Cowboys in over time 27 to 20.
