Perfect safety record for Dubuque Regional Airport

The Dubuque Regional Airport learned Wednesday it has met or exceeded, for the 21st consecutive year, all federally mandated standards, rules and policies which promote safety at all commercial airports.

For the 21st time, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) found Dubuque's airport to be in perfect compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 139. That dictates safety standards for airfield operations, safety and maintenance at airports with commercial airlines.

"I appreciate the hard work of our staff at the Airport. Together as a team from Airport Operations to Airport Maintenance to Dubuque Jet Center staff, safety is always our #1 priority and this perfect safety award proves it again," Dubuque's airport manager Robert Grierson said in a written release.

There are 23 categories an FAA inspector uses to evaluate compliance.

"No other airport in the country has a perfect FAR Part 139 safety compliance record for this many consecutive years," Grierson said. "This record is an outstanding reflection on the airport and the community as a whole."
