SYSK: 91-year-old bowls and laughs to stay young

Dale Clark of Cedar Falls admits he isn't the top bowler in his Thursday league at Valley Park Lanes.

"Sometimes I do fairly good, and sometimes I do fairly bad. Ordinarily I do terrible," said Dale Clark

But he doesn't spend a few hours bowling each week just for a high score, especially since 300 is perfect and...

"My best was about half that," he said.

Clark turned 91 on October 10th, and if you couldn't figure it out yet, he's got quite the sense of humor. Dale Clark is a World War II veteran.

Since his wife passed away about ten years ago, he enjoys this league as a way to get out of the house and spend time with friends.

"To stay active, and meet a lot of people. Just to be doing something," said Clark.

Clark worked construction most of his life. Now, he just enjoys knocking down as many pins as he can.

"Just something to do until I get old," he said.

Yes, this 91-year-old is quite witty, especially when it comes to his bowling game.

"Once in awhile I come and practice, but that doesn't seem to help me any," he said.

Others at Valley Park Lanes nominated Dale for "Someone You Should Know" because of his energy, his positive attitude and of course, his sense of humor. He's a fun guy to be around at bowling league.
