AOTW - Morgan Kuhrt

In a rematch against 5th ranked Charles City on Tuesday night, Waverly-Shell Rock's Morgan Kuhrt led her team to their 29th win of the season.  The win not only avenged an early season loss to the Comets, but it was also the 17th win in a row for the Go-Hawks.

In those 29 wins, Morgan Kuhrt has been nothing short of phenomenal, as the senior outside hitter has racked up more that 300 kills this season.

"Morgan & Kinsey, they have been a standout for four years and they have never been defeated in conference yet and we still have a conference tournament to go, so were still looking forward to that and hopefully we'll continue," said Go-Hawks head coach EaVon Woodin.

But Woodin says that Kuhrt's off season work is what has gotten her to this point and is a testament to her dedication.  She joined the Six Pack Club, a team of eastern Iowa elite volleyball players, and helped them win the 18 and under national title at a national tournament in Atlanta, Georgia.

"We played people from all over the country, like we played a team from Hawaii and it's really different seeing their teams play, so it was really fun and a great experience,"  said Kuhrt.

Kuhrt's work and dedication has landed her a spot with one of the top programs in the country,  Iowa State.  But for now she is focused on the task at hand.

"We have a lot of goals and we just really want to reach them everyday at practice were going in with the mentality to get better," said Kurt.

Getting better to achieve what she hopes will be a second state championship.
