Beltre shines, Rangers advance

The Texas Rangers have turned on the power to clinch their second straight ALCS berth.

Adrian Beltre  hit three solo home runs and the Texas Rangers beat Tampa Bay 4-3 to wrap up their American League Division Series 3-games-to-1. It's the seventh time a player has hit three home runs in a postseason game.

The power surge began early as Ian Kinsler hit Jeremy Hellickson's second pitch of the game into the left-field seats.

Beltre connected off of Hellickson in the second and fourth innings. He also went deep off of Tampa Bay reliever Matt Moore in the seventh.

Beltre is the first player to hit three homers in a postseason game since Adam Kennedy did it for the Anaheim Angels in the 2002 ALCS.
