IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa backup quarterback A.J. Derby has been suspended for two games following his arrest in Iowa City over the weekend.

Derby, 20, was arrested in Iowa City late Saturday night after officers were called to the eastern edge of the city for a report of someone punching out a bus window.

Police say Derby admitted to punching out the window and said he would pay for it.

Officers say a breath test showed that Derby's blood-alcohol content was .120.

Derby was taken to the Johnson County Jail and released an hour later.  He's charged with fourth degree criminal mischief and public intoxication.

Derby, a redshirt freshman who played for Iowa City High in high school, will miss Saturday's game at Penn State and the October 15 home game against Northwestern.

Derby has completed 3 of 6 passes this season in relief of starter James Vandenberg.
