Downtown Dubuque fire damages apartment building

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

A fire broke out in a two-story apartment building in Dubuque a little before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night, Dubuque police said.

It happened near the intersection of East 21st and White Streets.

As of 11:45 p.m., police said the fire department had the blaze put out and were monitoring the scene.

Officials said there has been no word of anybody injured.

Police said once the fire department completely secures the structure, police will go in and investigate the cause. They will be assisted by Dubuque's fire marshal.
