Edds headed to Indianapolis

Posted:

Former Hawkeye linebacker A.J. Edds is headed home.

Edds' agent, Jack Bechta, announced on Twitter that Edds will be joining another of his clients, former Hawkeye Pat Angerer, on the Indianapolis Colts roster.

Edds was drafted in 2010 by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round.  He missed the entire 2010 season after tearing his right ACL in training camp.

He continued with Dolphins in 2011 until he was waived by the Dolphins, but was then picked up by the New England Patriots and signed to their practice squad.  The Patriots released him late last week.

Edds is originally from Greenwood, Indiana, about 15 miles south of Indianapolis.

Edds will join two other former Hawkeyes, Dallas Clark and Seth Olsen, who also play for the Colts.
