A Frederika man faces several charges after deputies say he used a stolen prescription pad to get drugs.

Joshua Wayne Gitch, 26, was stopped outside of a pharmacy while deputies were investigating a report of a stolen prescription pad from a Sumner doctor's office.

Deputies say Gitch stole the prescription pad in May and had been forging prescriptions across northeast Iowa.  They say Gitch had Hydrocodone on him and admitted to forging a doctor's signature to get it.

Through their investigation, deputies found that Gitch had done the same thing at pharmacies in Bremer and Black Hawk counties.

Gitch is charged with one count of forgery and one count of possession of a schedule III controlled substance.
