Sweet Tooth: Yogurt Pro in Cedar Falls

Yogurt Pro owners say they were hoping to bring something new to the Cedar Valley when they opened their business.

The yogurt shop is in the Black Hawk Village shopping complex in Cedar Falls.

It's owned and operated by the same family that operates the Sakura restaurant.

"We're seeing a lot of [yogurt shops] in bigger cities, and we're the first one here in Cedar Falls," Bobby Quang, Yogurt Pro owner, said.

Customers choose their flavor, as much or little yogurt as they want. Then they can choose from toppings like fresh fruit or candy.

Then the container gets weighed, and the customer pays by the ounce. Quang said business has been good so far since opening at the end of August.

"First thing they say is 'Wow.' It's very healthy and that's what everybody wants," he said.

Quang said it's non-fat yogurt that is low in calories and low in sugar, but he says it still tastes good.

"Me, I enjoy seeing the smiles on everybody's faces that come in. Not only bringing healthy yogurt to town, but making everyone happy," Quang said.

He said there's always a reason to come back to Yogurt Pro because the flavors change every week.
