Peregrines Charities Holds Triathlon

This weekend Eastern Iowans have a chance to be involved in a triathlon in Waterloo.

Peregrine Charities will be holding the event at George Wyth State Park, 3659 Wyth Road.

There is a division for Children which starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday and a division for adults which starts at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday.

All proceeds go to Peregrine Charities which supports medical research for rare pediatric diseases and provides assistance with children's hospitalization and medical treatment.

This charity also grants funds to Eastern Iowa hospitals to assist with their care of children and to fund ground-breaking research investigating origins, treatments, and cures for rare childhood diseases. The ultimate goal is to provide children with comfort, dignity, and hope during difficult times.

Since the start of Peregrine Charities in 2004, $1.4 million has been given to research in rare pediatric diseases and pediatric efforts in Eastern Iowa hospitals.
