Despite being the only 1A team in the state with a 4 and 0 record, Nashua-Plainfield is still flying below the radar. The Huskies would enter Falcon country unranked and looking for respect against an A-P team with just one loss to class 3A power West Marshall.
Friday night was homecoming in the land of the Falcons, and they would be looking to make a statement right away. A-P would get on the board first by capping a long drive with a one yard run by Jason Grill.
In the first quarter, Falcon's quarterback Spencer Cooper would hand off to Grill who would take it more than 50 yards to the end zone.
The Huskies would not lay down for the Falcons. Still in the first quarter, Huskies' quarterback Matthew Sharp would air it out to Hunter Mueller. Mueller would grab the ball and dive into the end zone for six. With the extra point the Falcons would only be up by seven.
The Falcons would take flight as Cooper hits tight end Aaron Van Dyk. The big man would get pushed out of bounds at the 20 yard line. This drive would be capped off by a two yard run by Curry Hoff.
The Huskies would keep it close as Sharp would have his own number called and he would take it up the middles and get knocked down in the end zone, putting six points on the board. Nashua-Plainfield would miss the extra point. In the middle of second quarter the score was 21 to 13 Falcons.
A-P would be just too much for the Huskies to handle as the Falcons win by a score of 40 to 19.
