UPDATE: Driver ticketed in Cedar Falls motorcycle accident

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The driver of a car that was involved in a Cedar Falls accident on Monday that left a motorcyclist in critical condition, has now been ticketed.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m. on Monday on Hudson Road near the driveway for the Target Distribution Center. Witnesses told police that a motorcycle traveling south on Hudson Road hit a car turning north onto Hudson Road from the driveway.

The driver of the car, Paul Winston Watters, 40, of Cedar Falls, has now been ticketed for failure to yield and tinted windows. He was not injured in the accident.

The driver of the motorcycle, Ryan Neil Zaugg, 35, of Cedar Falls, was taken to the hospital with head and internal injuries. Police say Zaugg was air lifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and has been upgraded to stable condition.

According to police, Zaugg was wearing a helmet and protective gear.
