Forest City beats Columbus, 29-0, to open 2A District play

Forest City opened Class 2A District 3 play Friday night with a 29-0 victory over Waterloo Columbus at T. J. McLaughlin field in Waterloo.

Both Forest City and Columbus entered their District opener with 1 and 1 records.  Forest City beat Algona 21-13 to open the season, before falling 43-21 to 3A's second ranked team, Clear Lake. Columbus opened with a 36-19 win over Independence, then got hammered at Waverly-Shell Rock, 55-0.  

Forest City scored twice in the second quarter to break open a close game. Quarterback Kyle Rosacker fired a touchdown pass to Matt Snyder and Ben Nordskog punished the Sailor defense with a long touchdown run to give Forest City a 14-0 halftime lead.

Forest City scored in the 3rd and 4th quarters to beat Columbus, 29-0.  The Sailors will try to bounce back next Friday Night when they travel to Osage.
