KALONA (KWWL) -

An Aplington man is accused of breaking into a Kalona home and assaulting a woman in her bedroom.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says that Dallas Jay Miller, 22, broke into the home in the 2200 block of 500th Street SW at around 2:20 a.m. Thursday.

According to the criminal complaint, Miller went into a woman's room with tape and a camera.  Deputies say he broke the door knob off the door to prevent anyone from coming in.  They say Miller then placed his hands over the woman's face to keep her from screaming, but she was able to, alerting other family members.

Deputies say Miller escaped through the bedroom window, but they found his truck parked about 100 feet from the house.

Deputies say they also found a rifle outside the woman's bedroom door.

Miller is charged with first degree burglary and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.
