Utley hurt in Phillies' sweep of Braves

Philadelphia has all but buried Atlanta in what's left of an NL East race, but at least the Braves have a fallback option.

Ross Gload's pinch-hit single with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Phillies to a 3-2 victory and three-game sweep of visiting Atlanta, which has fallen 10 1/2 games off the pace. However, the Braves still hold a comfortable 6 1/2-game lead in the wild card.

It could prove to be a costly win for the Phillies. Five-time All-Star second baseman Chase Utley left the game for precautionary reasons for a possible concussion, two innings after he was hit in the helmet by a pitch.
