The Starmont Stars are off to a 2-0 start once again and are led by tailback Vincent Otdoerfer. Through two games the senior already has 285 yards rushing, 5 touchdowns and is breaking off 9.5 yards per carry.
"He's made himself into what he is, he works extremely hard on being better he starts in the weight room first guy in there first guy to leave," says Starmont Head Coach Matt Lee, "If you need 2 or 3 yards Vinnie's going to get you 2 or 3, if you need a break away Vinnie's going to get those things."
Most compare Vincent to his brother Jordan, now the starting tailback at Upper Iowa University.
"People tell me that I play like him and maybe someday I'll be as good as him so hopefully that's something I can live up to and something I look forward to every day," says Athlete of the Week Vincent Otdoerfer.
The youngest of nine sisters and three brothers Vincent's goal is to leave his own mark in Starmont history before the season is out.
"Defiantly get to the dome that's one of the things I always wanted to do with the team my whole career so that's definitely one of the things we have always been looking forward to this year and something we want to achieve, and I still want to break my brothers records so that's also something I look forward to.
Vincent needs about 1,000 more yards this season to break that career rushing record at Starmont, but their focus will now turn to district play as they travel to Guttenberg to play Clayton Ridge, Friday night.
