The Wapsie Valley Warriors raced out to a big lead and held on to win 25-14 after a furious 2nd half comeback by their rivals from Denver. On the first possession of the game, the Warriors Mitchell Boevers hooked up on a 45-yard pass play with Kenny Saulsberry to put Wapsie up 7-0. In the 2nd quarter, the Warriors' Tyler Odnel took a handoff up the middle for 30 yards. That put the Warriors up 13-0. They would put another score on the board before Denver gained momentum thanks to a Joe Frost score on 4th and short by the goal line. On the ensuing kickoff, the Cyclones recovered a fumble. On that possession, Frost would hook up for a 30-yard TD on 4th down with Marcus McMahon. That would cut the lead to 19-14. After regaining possession, the Cyclones were looking to take the lead but slippery conditions and a tenacious defense forced a fumble recovered by Alex Goeller. The Warriors would put away the game with a late TD and win 25-14.
