MARION (KWWL) -

A Cedar Rapids man faces charges after Marion police say he led them on a chase Friday morning.

Officers say they tried to pull over a car driven by DeAndre McDaniel, 27, at the intersection of Alburnett and Boyson roads at around 3:21 a.m. Friday for going 49 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone, but he wouldn't pull over.

During the pursuit, officers put out stop sticks at the intersection Blairsferry Road and Lindale Drive which was successful in deflating both passenger side tires.

After seven minutes and three miles, McDaniel finally stopped on Old Marion Road NE in Cedar Rapids and was arrested.

McDaniel is charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving while barred, speeding and operation without registration.

The owner of the vehicle, Heather De La Rosa, 23, of Cedar Rapids, is charged with allowing an unauthorized person to drive.
