Flooded Iowans receive more time to appeal for FEMA assistance

DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Iowa is getting more time to appeal to FEMA for individual assistance flood relief in western Iowa.

There wasn't enough visible damage for FEMA to grant individual help to homeowners, renters and businesses along the Missouri River.

Governor Terry Branstad asked for an extension to appeal, because flood water is going down, and he said more damage will surface.

The deadline has been extended to October 7th.
