"Real Kids, Real Life" founder dies

A Cedar Falls man who touched the lives of half a million students nationwide has died.

Paul Dunbar passed away Tuesday from cancer.

The former jewelry store owner sold his business to start "Real Kids, Real Life" in 1985.

For more than 25 years, Dunbar motivated young people in 18 states to make the right choices in their lives through his program.

He told a reporter once all he wanted written on his tombstone was "that I cared."

His visitation is Thursday evening from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls.

His funeral will be at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls on Friday at 1 p.m. 

Paul Dunbar was 75.
